Great PIctures!

Great Week!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Well week 2 is over! It was a lot of fun! I actually did all of the photography! I am also starting to take the guests places on my own without dean and ingrid! We got to do some really cool stuff this week, since it was christmas! Tuesday we went tubing and got to relax on the river! On xmas eve day we went to mantapalo on the boat and had a great day! It was another beautiful day and we saw so many different animals; monkeys, scarlet macaws, spiders...etc. There are pictures from that day on the boat, of me taking pictures and of the scenery! That night we went to this rock called pina rock and had dinner out on the rock! It was beautiful and I got some amazing pictures! those are the sunset pictures. For xmas day we went to Tiskita Lodge and I took the ladies on the hike with the guide from Tiskita, Dean and Ingrid didn't go(that is the first event I have taken them on by myself!) While on our hike we almost stepped on a Coral snake! Those are really poisonous so we quickly backed up and watched it from a far! I got some amazing pictures of that as well as some of the other animals and plants we saw! THe week turned out to be a pretty good week and the guest were really fun! Next week I will be doing even more and hopefully having more fun! There is a professional surfer coming with his girlfriend (who is learning how to surf) so we will get to go other places to surf and I get to take pictures of him surfing! Hope everyone had a great Christmas week and I will talk to you soon!

first week of camp is over! 2nd has started!

Hey everyone! so my first week of camp is over, and the second has begun. They could not be two different groups of people! last week the girls were 30 and 40 and very athletic. This week they are like 45-50 and not athletic at all but really funny. Im mostly taking pictures and then I take them to meals and on the boat trip. THe camp isn't really what I expected but it's okay, I'm learning a lot about photography and getting to surf! I'm a little lonely but I'll manage, everyone here is really nice and always willing to cheer me up. The pictures are of Matapalo, where we go on our boat trip! It's beautiful over there and there is a lot of wildlife! THe crocodile is at this place called Tiskita Lodge! It's really cool there! great hiking!

First week of Camp!

Hey everyone! So I am almost finished with my first week of camp! It wasn't too bad, I spend most of my time taking pictures and editing them! But to sum it up, we start out teaching surfing, then take them out to dinner every night and take them hiking! We also go tubing down the rio claro and take a beautiful boat trip! The boat trip was my favorite part! we go to Mantapalo which is across the bay from Pavones! it's beautiful there and there is so much biodiversity that we got to see monkeys and tucans and macaws! We even saw a sloth! We also go to a "resort" and eat a really good lunch! Yesterday we hiked at a place called Tiskita Lodge! It's really cool there, it is in a lot of guide books so Im stoked cause I get to go there every week with work! anyways I'm hoping to get online tomorrow for longer so if your on I hope I get to talk to you! also I will add pictures then!

First Week!

Hey Everyone!
Well my first week is over! It was both stressful and amazing, but I got through it! So to update you all one what's been going on, I've been surfing of coarse, and just getting ready to start camp! I spent the last few days with mom getting settled in Pavones. We also went out exploring a few times too! WE saw a lot of wildlife and even got to see monkeys on mom's last day here! They are so cool and it's amazing to see them in their natural habitat, and not in a zoo!
So the last few days mom was here we spent relaxing and trying to get everything in my "shack" put together! I finally got warm water on thursday afternoon! So now I can take a luke warm shower!
Yesterday morning mom left, that was sad, but Ingrid and Dean and another girl helped me keep my mind off of that! We hung out all morning and went surfing! We also went to a dance class that INgrid teaches every Saturday! After dance class we had a bonfire on the beach and hung out! All the people are really nice and are all willing to help if I need it!
So today is our first day of camp! I will work every day for the next 3 weeks! I'm mostly following Ingrid and Dean around the first week but then I will start doing stuff on my own!
I hope everything is going good at home! And I miss you all, I'l talk to you all asap (though it's very expensive to get online here, so who know when that will be!

The Launch of the Sea Turtle!!!

Hey everyone!
Well everything is begining to come together! We spent a very long hot day in Golfito, Ciudad Neilly and Paso Canoas! Which ment we went to Panama! I´m finally not sick and had a great day today! we spent the morning in pavones and I went surfing and then we went for a drive around the area (that was an experience)! We met some of our neighbors a tucan and iguana actually! they were hanging out together in one of my trees! we also saw 2 scarlet macaws flying over! Later down the road in punta Banco we got to see a Olive Ridley turtle right after it hatched and we got to help release it!!!! that was super cool! We also met the girl who is working at the turtle hatchery and she know Nikki Austin Brown (so Nikki if you see this it´s for you!) she works above scripps at NOAA! Tomorrow I will teach some girls how to surf and then i will hopefully be able to upload my pictures on my computer! So look for pictures, they are soooooo cool! Mom says hi to everyone too! hope to hear from you all soon!

HEy everyone!
Well we're in Pavones and it's at the end of the world! I live in a two story shack (by American standards!) and have bunk bed and a queen size bed  in a loft a small kitchen, a shower and a toilet! oh and did mention NO Hot Water! It's not much but it will do for the next two months! And I live next door to the Police station!
Well Pavones is great, everyone here is really nice, but my spanish must get better! THere is not much here in the town but it has enough to get by! there are 2 stores a few restaurants the cantina 2 internet cafe's, yoga studio, school, surf shop and a lot of cabainas!
So the journey down here was not easy, it was long and bumpy! First we got up at 5:45 am to get to the bus station at 6:30am! The bus was nice it was a charter bus and had windows you could open.  So the bus was 8 hours though the mountains and lowlands.  we stopped a few times and ate and went to the bathroom.  then we took a taxi for 2 hours to from Golfito to Pavones!  The road to pavones was slow and full of potholes! but we made it and met Dean and Ingrid my bosses and got settled in to my little house! see pictures below!
We were super tired from our trip down that we went to bed at 7:30! we then got up at 7:30 and I went surfing! I then got dehydrated and had to sleep and was a little sick for the last 2 days.  but I think I'm better now and will be fine for now!  Tomorrow we will go to the Panama border to get me supplies for my little house! Hopefully I will be able to get online tomorrow or Wednesday! miss everyone a lot!

San Jose

So here is my first post! sorry I'm just learning how to do this! but the pictures are backwards and the blog is at the bottom!

Today we walked around San Jose and found that it is in fact another country! There are many beautiful cathedrals and the Nacional Theatre is amazing! We are going to a show there tonight! Though we are pretty jet lagged from our long day of flying yesterday we had a good time walking around!  We are staying at the Gran Hotel in the Heart of San Jose, and it is really beautiful! it is one of the oldest hotels in the country and one of the most famous, even a few presidents from the US have stayed here! We ate the biggest dinner tonight at our hotel, it was all seafood and it was delicious! We actually ate the whole thing, I feel like I'm going to explode! now it is time for a nap and then we will go to the show! We will take a bus early tomorrow morning to Golfito, which is about 2 hours away from Pavones! The bus will take 7 hours and goes through the rain forest, which means I will be at my new home in less than 24 hours! so my next post will come from Pavones!
